I know plenty will comment on 'should've had [insert certain security devices here] but ffs, the police seriously are not bovvered!!!

Fair play to the guy, not sure if what he's doing is strictly legal re:video but tbh I reckon I'd be doing the same

do you get a lot of bike theft down here ?

Have we got any policemen (sorry... officers, must be PC these days!) on here that care to explain why this evidence is not enough to go get these tw@ts?

I take no chances these days. I use four or five different style locks when I put mine away. And the sixth anti-theft device is me, if I caught anyone doing this my helmet would become a battering ram. ;)

There's a thread on Pistonheads where someone had his bike stolen, the bike had a tracker on it & he was notified of it's movements.

The tracking company identified that the bike was in one of 2 lock up garages, this was within an hour of the bike being stolen. The police weren't able to break into the garages in case they got the wrong one & they in turn would have been responsible for criminal damage.

By the time the police got a search warrant, the tracker was removed & destroyed, the bike was gone.

Mad.

I tell you what, policing in this country at the moment is a fcuking joke. Do 35 in a 30 mind you and they slap a fine on you pretty dammed quick. If you ever get involved with police just deny everything at every stage and tell them to prove it, chances are they won't.

How many time after these 'Police Stop' type programmes do you hear the narrator say, 'Crims in this film were arrested but not charged', they are on film, broadcast to millions of people and they STILL can't prosecute. What hope has a shitty little CCTV camera got where you can't even clearly see their faces. The crims out there know all of this and take advantage, heck, if being a crim was my job, I would too.

the 'force' are too scared to prosecute real crime so they pick on us motorists/riders who sometimes know we're slightly wrong but dont have a leg to stand on.
SO F***ING ANGRY NOW.

It doesn't matter what security device you have on your bike/stuff, if someone wants it and is determined nothing will usually stop them :/

Police would say it should of been better protected or should of had more security but it's possible they are just saying that to give up on the looking/paperwork

It will be even worse with the gradual privitisation of the force, meaning everything comes down to the almighty £
