Dorna have control over sbk so I fear it will be the death of the series as we know it

Could be a merger with MotoGP on the cards?

Changes like limiting Biaggi to less than 39 engines/season maybe? Somewhat absurd when full factory prototypes in MotoGP are restricted to only 6. Maybe with new non-Italian series owners there won't be Special Rules for Italian teams and manufacturers from now on...

Well I'm hoping they don't destroy WSBK, but Dorna do have a point about current Superbikes being closer to prototypes than the CRT's. I think that if Superbikes are brought back to being closer to Superstock then the racing will still be close and exciting, as long as all manufacturers have an even playing field. This is the problem in MotoGP, Honda and Yamaha have the upperhand in financing their prototypes so therefore they lead by miles. Control ECU's and other measures may work, but ensuring a cost effective, affordable level playing field is they only way forward if MotoGP wants to survive.

So far nothing extreme as yet...apart from the stick on headlights plan thats being bandied around:-\???

I think something will have to change drastically in moto gp if it is to continue. Dorna bless them have been trying to prop up teams and get others involved (such as Paul Bird), but I can see moto gp losing out in the near future to WSBK.

Hopefully it is just a transition phase as the power is ripped from Honda (now spitting the dummy and saying they will put more effort into WSBK) and the Latin teams and that will things will calm down and the racing more exciting. I think that Moto Gp is also a bit too far removed from the people it aims to entertain, with teams and drivers being seen as detached robots and little fan integration (just look at everything you have to pay for on the Moto Gp website). Contrast this with how fans and teams are treated in WSBK and particularly BSB and you can see how these two streams have gone from strength to strength, particularly with BSB now wanting to become more and more international.

I think Lorenzo two years ago was the last time a moto gp rider threw his boots and/or leathers into a crowd. But I dont mind being corrected on that one...
