a question of taste?

Ok, looking for a bit of advice,
If you've checked the user gallery you'll see I'm in mid bike re-spray, but I'm considering adding these to the fairings..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIZLA-WHITE-G ... 1125031058" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's the fairing panels as they are now..
So my main thing is, as the bike is a 94 model, the Rizla graphics are definately NOT period but they are as iconic as 'Lucky Strike' or 'Pepsi'.
What do you guys think? I know its a personal style thing, but I just can't decide if it will look good or just plain wrong?

Personally I wouldn't. I've never liked the copies of race paint jobs, leave that to the teenagers! My personal like is a decent paint job of the colour of choice and standard looking decals, looks factory then.
But...
Each to their own, if you like it go do it.

My thinking is why make your bike and unpaid traveling sandwich board for some company, If they want advertising they should pay you to put it on your bike, all this red bull monster energy stuff is just free adverting for em really

personally I really dislike the rizzla replicas...
Not sure why, my favorite colour is blue so you'd think I'd like it but no

it would put me off a bike entirely

Well thats pretty clear then
I'll just do the laquering tonight and forget about the rizla stuff ;)
I kind of knew that was the general concensus and my other half said the same thing too

, but just needed a little push in the right direction

.
Back to it then!

You keep asking the question so I'll keep giving the answer:
Unless you're running Yoshi parts, I'd be inclined to leave the Yosh graphics off too - I think the black with minimal logos looks good - hang on, all black Suzuki, minimal graphics, sounds familiar?

Ahhhhhhhh........Yoshi logo is laquered on now, but its actually in keeping with the Suzuki Racing theme, there are also some period Team Suzuki Racing decals on the top fairing now ;) .
When its finished maybe I'll just drape some condoms over it to make you feel better Graham

I'm doing mine in Pepsi, as in 89 that's what they were running, I hate Rizla. I like Pepsi and don't care about advertising, got Relentless on some of my others, but only because I drink it. Plain black or "Ghost" looks the bollocks, Lucky Strike is too common, Skool Bandit is cool. Each to their own. Thing is it's yours so do what you like with it, unless you plan on selling it.

If you're applying that line of thought, Badger's going to have to find some Faberge stickers:
ps - has anybody got some spare small Relentless stickers, despite them sponsoring the NW200 when I was there, despite everything from telegraph poles to staw bales covered in their logos you could not beg, borrow or buy some Relentless stickers!

I'll ask Ben Skinner (son of Skinner's Brewery owner ;) ) when he next calls by. Relentless are one of his sponsors so he may have some kicking around his van?
Otherwise Fleabay has them in all shapes and sizes.

Cheers mate. Just want a couple of discrete ones for the bike.
I obtained a big sticker for free in Ireland, I think of it as a reward for eating all of my tea & drinking all of my beers in that pub that night but in the light of day it's more garage door size rather than Hayabusa size.
