Don't use text talk, too many old people on here won't understand what you're on about :)):

Go straight to a litre bike. Save you having to upgrade. You'll soon get use the power of a 600 and get bored of it. The throttle works both ways! \m/

I did my direct access had a sv 650 for 6 months then went out and brought a zx10r easier to ride than any six hundred goes as fast as ya twist your wrist.

Only trouble with sports 600's is they are so peaky and not the best to hone your new found skills on. Sometimes a bigger bike with a more forgiving nature is betterer. Or a naked with some lower down torque. Depends if he's set on a sports 600 or not. I'm biased anyway as I'm too old and creaky for a CBRZXRYZFGSXR :)):

Arn't there new regs on what you can ride after passing your test? Trying to ride a strangled restricted 1000??

If you are set on a sports 600, personally I would choose a GSXR, according to the road tests its the best road user friendly rather than totally track based, but then......I'm incredibly biased :ymsmug: :)) :)) :)) :))

I would also consider a sporty 400 as it is bhp legal but no restriction so you get a proper power spread and nimble handling. Good re-sale value when you want to upgrade after your restriction period ends too ;) .

It's all very well wanting a Sports 600 or 1000 but the insurance will probably cost more than the Bike.
