Filth on GS1200

Looks like the local filth might have a new weapon on their fleet. Just turned onto the A358 after coming back across from Wheddon Cross and a mile or so up the road towards Taunton we seen some blue flashy lights. As we neared it was two bikes, and the one with blue flashy lights was a plain grey BMW GS 1200 kitted out with aluminium panniers etc etc. A plain grey GS isn't going to arouse too much suspicion if it creeps up behind you and I'm the blue lights were in the same position as DRL's. Play safe out there boys and gals :|

ETA. Looks like they might have a couple according to this..........

I saw someone after Weston Bike Night the other week pulled in by an unmarked BMW GS just off the dual carridgeway, seemed a bit sneaky to me, have never known of unmarked bikes before.

they have a couple of unmarked BMW RT's on the fleet. These were introduced a couple of years ago.

Disappointed with this thread - was I the only one expecting to see something smutty on a Suzuki Bandit?

The Police S1000RR, Fireblades etc are usually PR tools, bit like the Lotus police car at recent shows.

I've seen the Hayabusa on TV before and feel the GS will also worringly blend into the biking scenery, mind you might be easy to spot as it will be the only GS ridden by someone in police leathers rather than full w@nk Ewan McBoorman adventure gear!

Don't go much on using GS1200 to try to catch car thieves and bike thieves, as the scrotes usually head off road. Can you see your average 'portly' plod handling those Beemers over fields and rutted tracks etc. ;) .

As for using an SV, don't reckon they'll be catching anyone doing 120+ mph, unless they've bought ex mini-twin racers :D :D !

By the way, do the unmarked bikes come with special holders for doughnuts and coffee cups, or maybe even 'CHiP's'?? :p :p

some quotes from another forum that had this vid on it

they enter a team in the World Endurance Championships racing at the Le Mans 24 Hour and the Bol Dor 24 Hour.

This is very serious stuff lap times only about 1 to 2 seconds a lap behind Mr Rossi and co !!!!

A few years ago they won the championships !!!! beating the factory Suzuki and kawasaki teams.

So yes these boys can ride a bit

and from an Expat biker living in france

something you learn fairly quickly living here & riding, dont EVER try & outrun the bike cops...

there's a couple on one of the french bike forums I'm a member of & despite the lack of HP (they both ride BM's in civil as well) compared to some of the other bikes, when we hit the twisties they leave everyone for dead.

They're supposed to be going to organise a track day for us at Dijon, to give us some pointers to going quicker round corners
