Bandit Front Wheel Required

So then, my trip to Scotland started well! Only 10 miles from home whilst overtaking a lorry a rather large stone or similar was flicked into my path with no time to react. Very large thud at 55mph!

Just managed to keep control of the bike and limp to the layby half mile up the road.
No more trip for me...for now! So, I'm now left with a good chunk of spare cash and a completely f*#%ed front wheel and tyre. Do I replace with a heavy Bandit rim or go for something better/lighter whilst I'm at it?
Bike is a 97 mk1 bandit 600, current front tyre size is 110/70-17
Suggestions greatly appreciated

Stick to stock!
Lots around, cheap as chips, get it fitted pronto and be on your way again within a couple of days ;)
If its done that much damage to the rim, give the tyre a very good inspection for damage too (inside as well as out)

yeah agree with Moosey on this one, lots of decent front wheels with tyres already on. With your spare cash you could always replace the bearings then you'll have a totally refreshed front wheel

!

Picked up a new front wheel rather cheap on fleabay, aswell as the new Bridgestone T30 tyre to try out. Will get fitter to have a look at old tyre for damage, not hopeful though! Only had a couple thousand left on it anyway.
Both should come Monday but am now going away with my girlfriend mon-fri so I've managed to get away afterall!

Have been running the 023s since I bought the bike 2 years ago with no complaints. These T30s are virtually the same price and according to reviews are a massive step up, seems a no-brainer to me
