The increase in duty planeed for September has been cancelled in today's budget.
Remains at just the 200 % then...

Its better than nothing, but it would be nice if they only taxed fuel once ;) .

Small crumbs to try and keep people from revolt.

The real truth is you earn £100
You pay 25% tax on that (£25) leaving £75
Out of that £75 you spend £25 on each of petrol, fags and beer
Petrol is 80% tax so you pay £20 more tax
Fags are 75% tax so that's roughly £18 tax
Beer is 30% tax (i think) so thats £7 ish

So you earn't £100 and the government had back £70

Yeah well, I got one over on the government, I gave up fags...............that's £18 the b'stards won't get from me ;) !!
