I have recently bought a new leather jacket and went for the held range,
Very comfortable, great warmth and protection
and looks quite cool,
Haven't had it long so can't comment on life,
But I prefer it to my dianese jacket now.

My perception of leathers has recently changed dramatically. I was always under the impression that you had to spend a fortune to be protected.

Not correct. The big brands are not always the best.

You are looking for double / tripple stitching, as thick leather then you can get ( yes the big brands tell you there new modern light leather is just as good but you might change your mind when sliding down the road with your bum on fire) armer on all the key points, then as much padding as possible in sholders and elbows etc.

My leathers are Frank Thomas, I bought the jacket and trousers for a total price of £300. I have recently had an off and walked away without so much as a scratch or bruise.

When it comes to looking after your leathers consider Renapor. Great stuff and makes a big difference to your leathers.

If you have not considered it you might also want to consider a back plate / protection vest. I recommend force field found them very good and highly rated.

Hope this helps

Try loads on! You'd be surprised in how much difference there is between manufacturers in fit and sizing.

Def some back protection as well as all the usual armoured areas is a must. Tbh, if I were you I'd be looking for a 2 piece or at least a jacket that zips to leather troos. A good jacket is only good if it hasn't ridden up your back in a spill and exposed skin.

I've got Rev itt gear, mid priced but I don't have too much in the way of choice regarding leathers being a bird n all!

Happy shopping! :)):

A leather jacket is a living thing to be loved and cherished. Look after it and it will look after you.

The guys are right... you dont have to spend a ton of money to find a good one.

The key is comfort and fit. You want it close but not too tight and you want it covering yer butt crack when leaning over the bars. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO TRY IT ON SITTING ON YOUR BIKE. What looks abd feels great in the shop by bind and be tight when you are assuming the position.

Stiff? get some leather softener/water reppelant waxy much and rub it in, hard, building a heat so it gets in everywhere, especialy the seams.

Then wear it wear it wear it till it fits you like a second skin, which is after all what it should be.
