SWB's Euro-Trip 2015

Hmm...
Who's up for a Nurburg trip 2015. September, so over 12 months away
Without looking too detailed just yet. Ride to Folkestone and cross to Calais. A full day but leisurely ride, be at the 'biker Loft' in Oostend by mid afternoon.
Following day, set off after a leaisurely friendly breakfast and ride to Hotel/B&B/Lodge near Nurburg, where we will base for 3 nights. All variable but can just get there autoroute all the way or fun roads or a mix.
2 full days days in the area, exploring and taking in sights and sounds and experiences, chilling. For those who want, take in a lap or 2.
Then amble on back, staying at the Biker Loft again before travelling home.
Remember, it sounds like a long way distance but when put into perspective of some friendly rides being 8hrs plus on the go, including stops etc, then this isn't so awful. And day 2 will could only be a matter of 3 hrs or so.
Probably looking at around £700 for 6 days total with some of the best roads North of the Alps.
Interested anyone??
Oh, I'll be taking cash this time to...

That's 2 of us then so far
The thing to note is opening times of the ring, for anyone who wants to do a few laps, as it's open only at set times.
But my initial thoughts are Sept 3rd, Thursday, and home again the following Tuesday,8th.
Also, I haven't checked any potential race weekends over there for then.
Mid week including a weekend means that crossings can be cheaper and gives you a full weekend there.
What do you think?

I have a fairly fixed schedule with work due to doing 10 on 4 off, and it just so happens that I am off over that weekend, so I normally finish on a Thursday lunchtime and go back Tuesday morning.
So that sounds pretty good to me, as I will only need to try and get holiday for the thursday and the tuesday. Depending on the ferry time on the thursday I could just come straight from London to I presume dover

That would be pretty cool. Probably be going on the tunnel as a little nearer and gets us to the other side a little quicker to get to Oostend which is just short of an hrs ride to the Biker Loft, if I remember correctly so crossing just after lunch..ish. Unless we go ferry, which would be nice, as get an decent break off the bike, but be earlier in the day to allow for slower crossing and still time to relax on other side.

Right, been doing a little sniffing around...
The Biker Loft isn't an option to stay over, so I'm proposing a cheap Travel Lodge on this side of the water and set off after breakfast to Cochem, Which should only be about 4hrs on the other side, depending on how much auto route or twisties we do.
Hotel when we're there, For 3 nights, Full buffet breakfast, including hot as well as continental, Mega 4 course evening meal, Use of Gym, sauna etc. And garage parking for the bikes, which is like a Bat cave under the hotel.
227euros p/person for 3 nights. Sounds a lot but it's all there, and they will knock off an evening meal if we wanted to go cheap one evening.
Euro tunnel is going to approx. £55.
Cochem is a lovely town with loads of roads to explore and some great bars...

Sounds like a plan, id be happy to tag along if that's ok ? Of course I have to see if I can get time off. Perhaps we can have a chat about it on the RTTB.

Of course you can tag along... that what it's up here for, for people to join in... I won't be at RTTB this year due to a recent op which put me out of riding until nearer the end of the summer. But def try to catch up at an Exeter Pub meet or something. Am on 07968151573 if anybody wants to discuss coming etc.

Start saving those Tesco Clubcard points :
http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=3223
£ 10 of vouchers gives you £ 30 against Eurotunnel.
