Alright there comrades,

I'm Rob saying hello from sunny Truro, probably know a few on here but this is a new forum for me. Love my bikes , currently riding KTM rc8r for pleasure and BMW R1200 RT for work. Thought i may as well stop being a loner/miserable git and embrace the local riding community. Hi to all. Hoping for some friendly banter and decent conversation with like minded people. (The wife just doesn't cut it i'm afraid)

Hi Rob, welcome to sunny swb. Hope you have a look around and Stay to play.

That's a beast of a road toy you have there.

Hello Rob. Just wondering...are you allowed to issue paracetamol to those riding behind the RC8 ? %-(

cheers for the welcome guys - the ktm is fairly new to me - only a few rides so far. Had a Trumpet ST1050 before , geared down was a great bike that held its own touring or sport riding. This is my selfish early mid life crisis (along with a tattoo) . Looking forward to some warm spring weather to get acquainted with it. Still with standard exhaust so need for paracetamol whilst following is not so desperate. To be honest, whilst I'm getting used to it, I'll be the one following!

hi Rob!

Recognise your face but don't think we've met to speak to, possibly seen you around Hayle Meet?

Anyway keep an eye on the ride outs/ meets section or post up when you're out for a bimble!
If you fancy a chilly one this Sunday I'll be on the MAG memorial run, meeting at Chivvy at 10 ish and out for a couple of hours ( maybe less weather depending) and finishing at Falmouth Moor.

Cheers,
Badger :-)

Hi Rob,

Welcome on board.

Do you ride your work bike over winter? Be interested if you use heated kit or not. Any recommendations?

Cheers

Cheers again for the welcome - We do ride the work bikes all year round. Due to the nature of our riding and assessment requirements we have to make sure we are up to scratch, if we had a winter break we would all need reassessment before starting again in the spring. Money the trust would not want to spend. Gets you comfortable with adverse weather conditions though, oh, and trust in bridgestone tyres! We don't use heated gear at all although some days it would be nice. We use made to measure BKS two piece leathers with lovely thermal liners for when its a bit chilly - normally these are sufficient , along with the heated grips on the bike. Use Altberg boots, Bahnrider high leg for me - good quality stuff. Tis a lovely job in nice weather but can be bloody awful/tiring in the depths of winter.
