2 way light switches

Confused.com...

I have a 2 way switch for a central lounge light. All works as should. However, the confusion starts when the circuit is in the off position from either switch. There is a constant feed of 65V+-. I have been told by different people that this can be expected, albeit not necessarily the norm. Others say absolutely not. Some one mentioned that you can get this if there is a lot of low powered lights in the house, which there is, though not on this circuit.
The circuit traces through ok with no faults or shorts when testing through with a decent multi meter.
Any help, advice, theory's explaining this would be greatly appreciated.
:D

Thank you guys and gals,

have sussed it, I think.... It's showing positive volts from the neutral block from the consumer unit. dare I say it, I proved it's volts and no amps, as I touched it and it didn't tickle like a live wire should :))

It really does defy what you think you understand about domestic electrics but am happy now. The main thing that got me was that there was as many possibilities with it as I asked people for advice.. a lot!!! But it all fits and will be putting the light up when I buy one.

Every day's a school day!!!!!

And Badger, I'll try not to get so in depth next time. Do we do relationship problems on here?? :)) =)) :(( :)) =)) :(( :D

For once I think we have plenty of people on here who could answer relationship problems, mostly answers involving head scratching and shoulder shrugging :)) :))
