Hello from Survival Skills

Good Morning all! I'm new to this particular board, though if you frequented Visordown or are a user of The Rev Counter, you may know me already 
I modded the 'Survival Skills' section of VD between 2002 and about 2010 (sadly, it's now totally moribund) and hang out regularly to the 'Staying Alive' section on TRC. From 2002 to 2014, I also had a regular column in every issue of the MAG magazine, 'The Road'. And I've also helped out with features in Bike, RiDE, Two Wheels Only and the Telegraph.
Due to a rather sudden and unexpected change in personal circumstances, I've just moved from my longtime base in Kent to Corfe Mullen, near Wimborne Minster which is on the A31 just north of Poole. That means I've also brought my advanced riding school, called 'Survival Skills' with me. I'm a BTEC-qualified post-test instructor (plus I did the CBT / DAS stuff for years too) and you can find out a bit more about the school here: www.survivalskills.co.uk. The site's not updated with the new location yet (did I mention it was a sudden move? ;) ) but over the next few days I'll be sorting out some good local training routes!
As well as trying to earn a crust by running advanced training courses, I put a lot of time into voluntary stuff with bikers too. I helped Jim Sanderson at Kent Fire and Rescue set up 'Biker Down', the free first aid / accident management / accident avoidance course where I put together the 'Science of Being Seen' module. That course which started in 2011 in Kent has been taken up by at least a dozen different fire services. I also work on the 'Ride Skills' days sessions at Brands Hatch run by KFRS and MSV where I present the roadcraft session and focus on cornering skills.
Anyway, that's enough about me. I've always made a point of trying to work with local bikers and local forums by organising discount training and other activities, so I hope I can do the same with SWB.
