Steering dampers

We all know about them and most know what they are designed to do. However some work better than others!
My zx10 had an ohlins fitted as standard but tbh is rubbish. Doesn't work at all but it's fitted it seems more for look than purpose. I've been thinking of having it re-valved for a while or a new one. I've seen race ohlins and sprint and I actually like Scott's but I've come across another manufacturer called Matris. Anybody heard of them? It looks the part and write up ticks all the boxes. Priced well so I'm tempted!
Anybody seen or got bone?

The ohlins zx10 ones a poor as standard.
One of there down falls.

Majority of people get them revalved,
Would stick to tried and tested but don't know if removing will cause issues as is electronic if remember rightly

Is this the new bike or the old? Does it actually need it?

Once you've had your suspension set up right to suit you, see how much its needed and go from there.

Matris & sprint have been around for a while. I always thought they were mid-market kit. Try a pukka Ohlins rather than a "made for a manufacturer" item (or just get yours revalved). Hyperpro are good, especially the CSC, which is speed sensitive - the harder the force applied to it, the stiffer the damping becomes. Bitubo are quite nice too. I have heard several reports re the Scott's dampers ...... All good.

This is for old 2008 model which is on track. New one is electronic I believe as a 2011 model! The one I got don't work at all! Could take it off! Had a few quotes for revalve at around the 60-80 mark. One guy said its a 50-50 if it will work and he said get new one. I've always liked the Scott's but not a Product that's easily got in the UK!

Spend loads on suspension and set up nice and as yet no issue with any front wheel wobbles etc but just prempting it I guess
