Recon that would leave a fair size dent in the wallet,
And the inner leds flashing when cars are within distance, knowing how bad some of the driving is they would be going off constantly.
Like some of the ideas though.

Blimey Charlie....methinks you'd be spending more time thinking about what the heck is going on inside the lid rather than outside....Solar Panels?....yep, that'll work well in Zumerset!
However it IS very cool.

Scary, I'm no technophobe but isn't all that information just going to distract you from whats coming next on the road? I missed the acute bend coming because the Christmas tree in my helmet was busy telling me I had cars behind me?? of course you' e got cars behind you, you're on a f****kin motorbike, cars are always going to end up behind you....

!!
Nice, but no thanks, I shall be getting on my 90's motorbike, shutting out the distractions with my ordinary lid + earplugs and enjoying being alone with my bike and the road ahead!

I think there are aspects of it that are very good.
As with all new technology, initially people will be resistant, and designs will be improved/simplified/packaged better to make them more acceptable. In 10yrs you'll look back and realise it instigated a whole new field of development you suddenly can't live without.

Said it once... will say it again.
What a pile of crap!!!! I don't even know where to start.... It will flash so you know how close someone is behind you??? Why the f*ck would I want to know that?! So no more riding in convoy as they would need to keep their 250 feet distance otherwise you will have your warning lights flashing ahahahah It will flash all the time or you will need to know the space between you and the car behind and not change the lane/back from overtaking closer than 250 feet to avoid this flashing. What about stuck in the traffic, or filtering through the traffic, waiting on lights ? I suppose you can ask the car behind you to reverse 250 feet because your lid is getting strong warning flashes and vibrates as well hahahahahaah!! Seriously! And at night it will be very distracting and annoying. Also cameras so I can see what's behind me ??? Who gives a f*ck about this. Not forgetting to mention being blinded by headlights ALL the time as you can see it in your rear view camera inside your lid. Honestly, what a FAIL!
p.s
In short. No thank you

as will all electronic applications, you can turn them off as well as on. I would imagine they will be adjustable so you can set how close you wish to have the alert signal you - if you want them on at all.
there will be low light filters on the cameras so as not to be dazzle - design characteristic i think you'll find.
also, whats the difference between that and a mirror? if anything the image will be a clearer picture that the reflection on a piece of glass, on a stalk mounted 6" off of a plastic nose cone.
i think it's a good idea. like moose said, in 10 years you won't think twice about it.
when they brought out flip front lids people kicked off saying they wouldn't be secure or safe - proven wrong
when they brought out full face helmets people complained they weren't safe due to lack of visibility - whoops, wrong i think
ooo, underseat exhaust - dangerous, think of the heat from the can, how can it be safe??? - sorted.

Time will tell no doubt and I'm sure the cost implications of a helmet of this kind will put it out if most of our pockets! The ideas are sound and picking it apart I'm sure it's a good safe thing. If it had been in production for the last 10 years then peeps would be used to it just like any other piece of tech. I like the concept and would love to try it out but no idea if it's something I would spend my cash on!
