I saw this on twitter.

He was riding like a Twat though. Well not a twat, but to do all that double white passing, wheelies in built ups and recorded track speeds, then post it up.

That's the twattish side of it.

Bet a car driver would get a 3 month ban and a fine.

In general most of the stuff he did was sketchy but not seriously dangerous, recording it was twatty though, the dangerous stuff though was pretty thoughtless on his part. 2 yr sentence is from numerous crimes put together so can't really decide if excessive or deserved? The big test would be if a car driver was in the same situation, would it be classed as dangerous driving and would it get the multiple convictions? I would hope so.

We had a guy go to a plymouth dealer and film himself doing similar on test ride bikes, he was also jailed.
These incidents may be considered dangerous for sure, but in both cases nobody was hurt and no property damaged, punish the offender by all means, take away the toy, make them do a retest, fine them a fortune, but chuck them in prison? That costs us a fortune and leaves the offender unemployed. I can't see any reference to this guys employment status but if he can afford a blade I guess he had a job. Is he likey to work again at 61 fresh out of prison? We will be picking up the benifit tab as well by the looks.
My point.... There has to be a better way

Interestingly, there was an article in the express & echo t'other day of a chap caught speeding in Exeter.

74mph in a 30 zone on of the main roads into the city. 2.5 times the limit, in a Ford Fiesta. The equivalent of 175mph on a comparably safer motorway. His excuse was his mother had been taken to hospital in Birmingham and he was rushing to be with her.......

His punishment? A £500 fine and 5 points added to the six already on his licence!! Apparently he would lose his (hotel) job without his licence (can you drive hotel?) And his pregnant girlfriend was already out of work, so they would be a burden on the taxpayer .....

There have been several cases recently with speeders jailed for their effort - I'd be mightily pee'd off at that sentence if I was one of them .....

yeah I've been watching a few of those Police chase shows lately and they tell the sentences given out after. I'm surprised at how low most of these are. Especially seems that drunk, stolen car driving will often result in a 250 quid fine and community service! No wonder no one gives a shit about how they drive these days, there's less cops on the road but, when they do catch the scroats, the courts give a paltry wrist slap.
