Look what I've gone and done. Picking it up Saturday. Still got the Ducati but decided to upgrade the SMT for more cubes and extra orangeyness.
One of the last 2015 bikes discounted to 12 K. A bargain but I hope its a good un because I'm properly skint now. Poor but happy..
Anyone want to buy a nicely sorted SMT

When its properly loosened up with a few thousand miles on it (and I've got some more money), probably next year, it'll get an Austin Racing GP2 exhaust system with titanium decat headers, a stage 4 motohooligan airbox and a custom remap. It'll be even more beastly then.
Been wanting one since having a test ride last year. I didn't want to get rid of my Streetfighter because I've spent too much money on it, I love it too much and there's no substitute for Ducati power delivery. But as a KTM upgrade on my SMT the Superduke, especially at the price, made a lot of sense. Not many second hand ones about. People tend to hang on to them and there were a few niggles with the very first ones so a discounted new one with dealer back-up seemed the way to go. at least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself.
Roll on spring..

Rule one of buying a new KTM............... never pay full price for it! As a brand, they are the worst (or best, depending when you buy ) for heavily discounting. At least thats £2k's worth of depreciation you haven't got to worry about! I done a few hours on AMS's demo last year, but I couldn't justify £14K + trinkets on one. Might get one at some point, depends if I can find another job when mine goes to Southern Ireland later in the year.
Crescent at Verwood had one as well knocked down to £12,500. They've been pretty good to me with the number of test rides I've had without buying so I thought I'd give them a chance to match AMS's price but they said no way could they get down that far. So I'm fairy confident I've got as good a deal as could be had.

Can I touch it though??
By all means have a prod. It'll be out and about on the SWB rideout circuit soon.. Hope we get a dry spring so I can get the running in and first service out of the way in quick time.

Allow him to touch but what ever you do, don't let him lick it
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..
No nick you can't warn everyone,
Remember once I lick it, it's mine!!!! Mwah ha ha ha
Nah I do love the 1290superdukes and just wish they were a sizable chunk of change cheaper as can't spend that much, still though who knows 10 years time.
(P.s. just a bit jelious)

I have tried to register with the Superduke forum but haven't heard a peep from them. No email response, nothing.
If I try again I don't expect I'll be able to have the same username. Are the mods on holiday?
