Hello from Ottery St Mary

Spotted one of your fliers for the track day over in Wales so thought I'd pop my head in the door and say Hi .
The Mrs and I have just relocated to Ottery from Southampton a few weeks ago so I've got to start fresh getting to know the local roads and hang outs, hopefully something you can all help with! Looks like there's plenty going on in my neck of the woods.
Been riding about 12 years, having jumped on two wheels as soon as i turned 16, and used to be quite involved with the local forum with ride outs and such until other hobbies took over (any shooters among you?).
Will keep my eyes on the forum and hopefully make an appearance soon.

Hiya Mr & Mrs Panda. Check the ride out section, we've a couple looming soon and if you fancy a wobble you might be able to get in on the Llandow trackday just over the bridge in June.
Iconic ride that the Speed Triple, right hooligans bike

Hello and welcome,
As for shooting, is that shotgun or firearms?
Do have shotgun licence but gun hasn't been out in 18months since a bit of game shooting.

Welcome to Ottery St Pothole . Best get yourself a dirtbike, clay traps are on East Hill unless you prefer locals

Cheers for the welcome all. Very tempted by the track day so I'll be counting the pennies. New leathers would be called for first.
Ruffian - we're in to a bit of both so if anyone has any recommendations for clay grounds or gun clubs I'd welcome them.
Stumbled across the clay ground at East hill I think, no way I was getting in that "car park" without a half-track though so I chickened out.

Looks like I need to learn the local stereotypes as well! So far I've worked out no one south of the A30 knows that a green light means you can start moving.
Saw some bikes starting to gather on Exmouth sea front on my way home this evening. That a regular thing or just some folks stopping to admire the view?

The traffic lights are in honiton

To be honest the whole area has a lot of people move to East Devon to retire.
But when Dave said "Im over the hill" I couldn't help myself. I personally have nothing against Seaton or the lovely people who live there.

Hello Sam and a welcome to SWB from me; I also have the good fortune to live in God's little acre, AKA Ottery St Mary so welcome to the town too. There's plenty bikers in OSM but I think thee and me may be the only SWB's. I'll be in the London Inn tonight (Friday 6th) if you want to say hi, ask any of the bar staff to point me out. The other way to recognise me is that I'll have a much-used Aprilia RST 1000 repair manual in my hand - don't ask . . . . . !
BTW, the genuine and original God's waiting room is of course Budleigh Salterton with Sidmouth a close runner up, but I wouldn't live anywhere else than East Devon; we've got some of the best biking roads in England on our doorstep for a start.

Update - Sam I've just been called out on a recovery so won't make the London untill later - don't drink all that ale before I get back!
