Can anyone recommend quick easy places on the street to park your bike in Exeter city centre?

Yes, there's a free m/c park just outside the Mary Arches Street car park. It's on the corner of Mary Arches Street and Synagogue Place - here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Syn ... -3.5342069

I use the carpark that is under the council buildings. The Bike park is right in front of a security camera.

Last time that I was there was for a home international bridge match at a hotel near the cathedral.

Seems to have changed drastically since then...

You go through that arch way into the carpark aye then down a level.
