In view of the forecast for Llandow I'm wondering if anyone has used rs10s in the wet I'm wondering if it is better to take my other bike with sport
touring tyres on, any comments would appreciated I'm assuming well will still ride if it is raining?

I’ve been around llandow in really bad rain and used pilot 4s found them great.

I'm running same tyres as I have on the superduke.

I have been out at Oulton Park in full wets on a track prepped bike and was still slipping about to you need to be prepared for some movement and you have to change your riding accordingly for the conditions. That said most / all road or touring tyres are designed with both wet and dry conditions in mind and will give reasonable grip levels as well as water clearance due to the tread.

Personally I have Metzeller M7s on my Gixxer 1000 I find them very grippy in the dry but also have a proven history in the wet as they were the tyre of choice for the TT for many years.

Long winded way of saying.....”your be fine” just modify your riding accordingly.

The tarmac at Llandow is so grippy that knee-down in the wet (using full wets) is easy... you could probably do it with any decent tyres to be honest, especially something like PP3s or 4s

I've been on Michelins for ages. PR3, PR4.

The Road 5s wouldn't fit !!!! Outside diameter increased to hit swing arm.

Great in the dry, great in the wet, useless on farm excrement !

Where did you get that nugget of info from? M7RR's haven't beeen around that long have they? They have probably used the Racetec and Racetec RR for a number of years but that's a completely different tyre to the Sportec M7RR .

To be fair, most , if not all bike tyres come off 2nd best to that, especially if you find it when you're banked over around a corner

Based on Metzelers experience at the TT. Where they use the Racetec and Racetec RR. So basically nothing what so ever to do with the TT other than it’s a Metzeler .
A bit like saying that Michelin Pilot Power 2cts were used at Moto GP

M7rr must have been released in 2014ish.
After there other really successful tyre the m5.
Both have been amazing and do really rate both.
A very good all round tyre if a little soft as was struggling to get any mega mileage out of them. (But then I do like the throttle) need to change a rear about 2500/3000miles.

The proof is in the pudding really.
Any tyre now is more than capable of riding around a track. For example yesterday at llandow.

Terrible rain, puddles left right and centre,
And a couple of boys still were out on supercorsa's.
(Yes they were not pushing their luck but still)
Most people dont even like riding them through a damp patch.

I was on retro Avon's and was a chuckle. Could feel it moving a bit but was still a giggle.

Wasn't there someone out there on slicks?
