Re: stuck
Try using an impact driver or driver bits on a socket spanner. Get the tightest fitting bit you can to avoid rounding off the screw head. Or buy better quality screwdrivers

I always give the heads a sharp tap with a flat punch before attempting anything, impact driver is your friend, make sure the bit is fiting well before attempting anything

we use em at the hangar the snap on ones are near £20 a pop! I can't ruin the screw though as I need to keep it.billinom8s wrote:drill and an 'easy out'

You could try some thermal stress, either heat it with Oxy-Acetylene or a plumbers blow torch, or freeze it with some quick release freeze spray. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FREEZE-SPRAY-QUIC ... 2c54fdd3b2

Re: stuck
i'l try freezer spray we've got shit loads of it in the vending machines but it doesnt work as well on steel. steel although depending on the composition has a lower coefficiant of expansion/contration than ally which is what we usually use it on. The only thing heat could be used for is to break any corrosion between the threads inside. Other than that it will just make the jammed bolt even tighterSixth Gear wrote:You could try some thermal stress, either heat it with Oxy-Acetylene or a plumbers blow torch, or freeze it with some quick release freeze spray. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FREEZE-SPRAY-QUIC ... 2c54fdd3b2
