Photos look different on camara

Post by Mike Daytona600 »

Just been printing some photos of Christopher. The thing is when I look on review on the camara the photos look okay but when I print them they are sometimes too dark. I get this a lot. I have calibrated my monitor and tried a few diffent printer settings.

Any ideas

Cheers, Mike

done a little googling and its a common problem a forum reply suggested the following

''do a search for spyder2 or spyder3 on google.

is a briliant calibrator... i use this one ... save my profile and i know that when i print it will be the same as i see on my screen. ''

hope it helps m8 :)

are you printing the Phots directly from the camera?

import them onto your computer, using photoshop or similar ('Gimp' is a free download) udjust your colour and hue/saturation and print from there.

one of the things I've learnt recently is the fact that digital photography still needs processing work the same way that 35mm did, the only difference being that the processing is digital and not mixing chemicals etc.

here's an example of a Golden Eagle I photographed on saturday

it didn't come out of the camera like this

I'm using ms digital image 2006. It says in their book to print off a familular photo and adjust the screen to suit but that seems to make the screen too dark for other stuff like games. :?

Been using PC Line photpaper cos been printing 5x7 photos and you can print on the back. I've got some Kodak 4x7 so will try that. My printer is an epson stylus photo printer to will try some epson paper at some point.
