But it really is food for thought your right - shows just how unnesscicary taking risks are !! Videos like that make me think less about myself, and so much more about the hurt i would cause the people i left behind if anything ever did happen - touch wood it dosnt !!

might make people think then :?

I must admit I found it hard too, but if thats what it takes to wake people up, then so be it. I think the one thats on at the moment where the guy goes around seeing the boy he killed everywhere is pretty good too :?:

I'm not really sure what to say...

Thats a really powerful video, the one with the couple on the wall... really got to me if you know what I mean.

I agree if this kind of imagery was on regurly it would make a lot of people think.

That Think! scheme put out a fairly good advert a while back...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXI8-_9FrB4

Kind of lost respect for it when they plastered the torpoint twisties with those 'Can you stop?!' signs whilst the road surface was ruined by the works. 'Actually no guv, I can't stop because of all the effing gravel everywhere'

I was sent this last night been around a while but maybe it should be attached too driving licences when they are sent out,

I20 went to a party,

And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mum
So I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of myself,

The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,

And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of
sight.

I got into my car,

Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mum
Something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,

And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mum, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,

As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,

While he was flying high,
Because he chose=2 0to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mum

Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mum

I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mum,

As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mum!'
So I love you and good-bye.

Actually a friend and fellow truck driver had a youngster in a car overtake him one night in france, it was on a nice straight piece of road but appeared to be going too fast, when he got too a t junction 2 miles further on the car had not made the turn and slammed straight into the rockface opposite, killing the driver and making a right mess of him
he was first on the scene, nothing he could do. apparently the police, ambulance and fire brigade turned up,took one look at the mess, the driver was pronounced dead, they called a wrecker and took the car off with the body still in it
that really affected the poor guy he was never quite the same afterwards somehow
