politically correct stupidity

Post by Jak »

Paignton Bike Nights raise loads of money for local charities - including the Devon Air Ambulance. Last night at Paignton the Devon Air Ambulance had been invited to drop in - as they have done safely for the past 3 years. But this year ... the local Council said no because it'd be "too dangerous for the helicopter to land" on Paignton Green ... and DAA hadn't completed the correct Risk Assessment forms. These guys fly helicopters day in day out, landing in all sorts of places ... but they can't be trusted to land on a cordoned-off area on that huge Green.

It isn't going to get any better.
We live in an ailing society, and one of the prime indicators of such a society is when more than 20% of the population works for Government. Guess what.........

Is this not the same council that caused the little train to be stopped this year in a wrangle over licence's :?

It's not really a "government" thing .... just local council's (especially in areas like this) seem to be a magnet for the aged, bigotted, jobs-worths

That's the one ... they also talked about removing the palm trees from Torquay seafront for health and safety reasons (too pointy and sharp for the fragile tourists!!!!)

Its all in the same boat, kids cant play with conkers unless they wear safety googles, kids cant play on climbing frames, banning cartoons that have been around for years and years.. like you said with tug of war.. its a huge complete loads of bollocks, they now even thinking of reducing motorway speed limit to 60, and re-classifying local roads for slower speeds as tourists find it difficult..
