Going to be a new biker soon
Hi all. Got my CBT and DAS to do on the 1st Oct to the 4th Oct. Passed my theory on Thurs .Always wanted to learn to ride but never got around to it.
I love in by the Hanham/St george Borders and built a Tiger Kit Car in 2004 which I still have and took to le man this year. I am active with Pistionhead and South west Tiger owners forums.
Was looking around for a local bike forum to get info and help from with regards to bikes to get and clothes etc..

thanks Jay. Got a feeling i will be asking many questions in the coming few weeks. 2 of them will be what clothes are best to wear and what bike do people recommend. I have been looking at the GSR600 for my first foray into biking

Good choice on going into biking mate, it's a great world to be in!
First bikes you're looking at Bandits, Hornets, SV650's and the like - they're popular choices.
As for clothing, RST do great gear for the price, a two piece suit will set you back about £300.

many thanks for all the replys.
Suggestions on a first bike. I know of the fazer, Hornet, GSR600 etc.. but what will best suit a new biker that does not want to get bored of his bike in 6 months.
As for clothes. I got a Aria corsair helmet and gloves that i use in my Kit Car but not sure what is best otherwise in the clothing line. I like the leather jackets and was looking at some type of armour jeans. When I get a superbike then I will get the all in one. but not yet
thanks again and were are you guys from in the local area?
regards

Hey
Welcome to bikes, you going to love it.. I'm leaving them again now. So my GSXR1100 is for sale. You could have that as your first bike..
Good learner bike..
Afterall.. if you get a 600cc up-right "learner" bike, you will sell it within 2 months for a litre sports bike!!
