not biker friendly
went to a little tea shop in porlock (with green painted front on main street) last summer on a nice sunny day and the owner was an arse and thort me and misses were going to do a runner with out paying and wasnt polite to us but was to every one else.
so take your money else were?

the whortleberry was it called/ did it have old pics of people picking whortleberries on the walls? went there last summer when driving through with the car on the way too minehead. seemed ok then but was driving car so would not know, but the whortle berry jam etc was bloody expansive i know that

no mate nothing to worry about, you will be suprised how easy and effortless it is to get upand down there on a bike. lovely views from the top aswell

Going down Porlock is probably worse than going up, apart from turn 2 on the way up where if you go up on the inside it is very very steep. On my Bandit I have to drop into 2nd to do the first part of the hill.

i've been up and down porlock on a push bike, went on a mates stag wekend there last year. would be much easier on my ninja
