Finally got my internet back.

Post by Dave »

You may have noticed I have not been online for about a month.

I have major trouble with my internet, sometimes getting download speeds of only 30k, (20k less than dial-up) . After spending a weeks wages on the phone to some bloke in india, I began to realise that there is nothing that they can do to help me (They offered to give me a free month and send out a free modem, but when the modem I have is fine I ended up by cancelling my contract).

Now...
Today I had some chaps from telewest over to install cable, I now a nice new tinternet line that connects perfectly at 4mb. WOOHOO!!!!

There will be a Netgear ADSL Wireless router for sale in the for sale section soon, as I need to change to a DSL one.

Good to see you all guys and gals

Telewest rock, I dont know what Telewest package you have but Telewest are now Virgin Media and they have a very special package available atm. Basically £85 gets you 24/7 free phone calls, full TV package (Sky Movies and Sports, plus a HiDef box with recording features like Sky+) and a 10Mbit Broadband connection.

Just phone them and ask for the Virgin Media VIP Package :)

I can't afford the £85 a month :(

I did manage to get in on the 4mb for £17 a month before they changed to Virgin and upped it to £25

Depends on what you already have. I wasnt sure if you had anything else from Telewest or if you had Sky.

I was already paying £95 p/m for the full TV package, normal phone and 4Mbit internet, so unlimited calls and 10Mbit internet for £10 less sounded like a bargain :) on the old price scheme the £85 package would had been around £120-130!

Probably don't need the 4MB, but it does help as Boo spends half her life on Youtube eating away at my bandwidth
