New Jacket - Advise/feedback please

Post by VTR »

Hi all

I'm looking to get a new leather jacket soon as mine is starting to look a bit on the tired side :( & was wondering what people's thoughts were on some of the ones on the market at the moment?
I'm not that bothered about fancy colours, but some decent armour is the main consideration.
Alpinestars are something that I'm looking at at the mo, but would welcome any feedback/info on any other make.

Cheers

VTR.

I think it depends on your budget mate. Frank Thomas have always made good kit at a good price. If you want the brands etc there Dainese...

Budget is around £300 max.
I'm not that bothered about names or the latest fashion items, more interested in the protection it'll offer.

I haven't got the jacket, but I bought a pair of RST trousers last year, and they seem decent quality :?

dont buy frank thomas its overpriced tat !!! usual advice is to try a few on inside your budget and check the protection inside them. all elbow and shoulder pads should be c.e approved but the back protectors arent, my choice would be dainese or arlen ness

Thanks for the feedback so far folks.
I'll have a wander around some of the dealers/shops & have a look at whats on offer. Might wait a while to see what the new GT Mc's in Plymouth will have in, should be opening in a month or so I reckon.
Dianese seem to be a favourite, & the info on their website looks interesting. Have to have a look in the flesh....so to speak.

Thanks for that deej. Funny, I was thinking about poping into J & S in Plymouth sometime, I'll have a look next time I'm down that way.
Nipped up to Bridge in Exeter this afternoon to have a look at the Dianese stuff, it certainly looks quality gear, & as usual Bridge know how to charge!!!
