Dont think so si as they are near enough the right length when free (ie just laid down on the bench), this is the bit that is puzzling me

if you fully compress the forks do they not spring back at all?

how cruddy was the oil that came out of the forks? cruddy enough to clog up the valves in the damper rod?

spacers at the top of the springs missing?
