Forget your pride, try and convince the court that you are genuinely sorry for what you did, you should get off lightly. (This may involve crying.)

What ever you do, do not plead ignorance, do not argue with anything that is said to you.

Remember that you are recieving this penalty because they want to teach you a lession; they dont want you to repeat the offence. If you appear defiant to the court, they will be heavy handed with the penalty.

Good luck!

Also when you go o court sk to see the evidence. If its not written down that the laser was check tested, distance tested, beam was tested by being broken.

Was the operator wearing an airwave radio, which most forces now use!! If so did he have it on transmit inhibit, was other equipment in the van on transmit inhibit was his mobile phone turned off etc etc ACPO guidlines state that they should be.

Its your licence mate fight for it. As i said loads of loopholes and would love to come and help you out but i don't think work would like it too much!!

So much advice already given. My advice would be if you want to challenge them with regard to the accuracy of the camera do so. There are lots of loop holes. But don't come across as being arrogant. that certainly won't work. Log onto MCN website, they have done lots of articles on speed cameras, there may be someone on there you could talk to before going to court who could help. With the polices view on the amonut of accidents involving motorcyclists in the southwest, you are going to have to come over as being genuinly sorry, which I'm sure you are. Think the reason you have been asked to go to court is purely down to the fact that you were nearly 30mph over the limit and because of the history of accidents on that stretch of road. Good Luck mate.

Your done for, they'll throw the book at you and you'll get raped in prison by a big gay man called Sal. You'll live with that for ever until one day you get pushed over the edge and decide to go postal in brighton whilst dressed as your mother.

Either that or a simple three points i reckon, just be humble and remorseful.

i though that it was 3points for anything between the limit and 30mph more, after that its a court date so im suprised that your going to court for 78 in a 50, sounds dodgy to me.

That's 30 over 70 ....... you think you'd get a FP for 60 in a thirty   He's going to court because they caught him more than 50% over the applicable limit i.e. equivalent of 105 in a 70
