Hey all,
Firstly I would like to thank you all for you kind words and well wising - much appreciated
I have no excuse for the crash or the injuries - I was having a bad day at work, came home for an hour at lunch to try and get my head together before going back - I probably should have walked back rather then getting back on the bike ...
I lost the front end under heavy breaking from a speed I shouldn’t have been doing - my concentration levels weren’t as they should have been! I did recover the crash initially but was then heading into more danger so grabbed more front brake and off I went ... slid for a long long way (or so it seemed) onto the wrong side of the road - I was extremely lucky there wasn’t a car coming the other way or maybe I wouldn’t be posting this now!
The bike is a right off however I will be able to salvage some parts so will be breaking it and selling what I can. As for me, I spent 5 hours in hospital this afternoon - I have burns/road rash on my right arm, hip, knee/leg and foot ... left side of the body is ok, bruises and marks but nothing as major as the right side! However, the doctors are confident of a full recovery after treatment other a few weeks so with a bit of luck I will be back to normal.
As for riding - admittedly I was very shaken up by the crash, mainly due to the fact of if a car was coming the other way; well I could have been a lot worse. Still, that hasn’t put me off at all - it was my fault not the bikes and I am eager to get back on. I will be buying my new bike (either a gsxr600 or a 636) in May/June next year - looking forward to it all ready
Thanks again guys,
