It happened just by the Smugglers, the young lad was following his girlfriend on his bike and decided to overtake at about 50 mph, a car came out of fordens lane. Last I knew he had broken his ribs and punctured lungs, a lot of swelling on the brain (oedema) causing further damage. Was currently in a coma with the family due to make a decision on whether to keep the support going yesterday

It doesn't sound good for the poor lad. I bet his girlfriend must be in a bit of a state as it sounds like she watched it happen.

According to ITV's teletext this evening there's another biker down in Redruth, Cornwall. It says he was riding a 600cc Honda & collided with a cement mixer nad was rushed to RCH Truro with serious injuries

Coming home last night the Police had closed the road by Red Cow level xing at St Davids Station, and saw there was a bike lying on it's side ... hope the poor person is OK

His girlfriend was driving the car behind him. A car pulled out of a blind junction by the speed camera on the Teignmouth-Dawlish road right in front of him. He went over the top of the car, his bike was thrown across the road into the path of another car. He was put in a high dependency unit but given a very low chance of survival (10%) mostly due to the swelling on his brain, but also the fact they were unable to operate on his other injuries because of it.

Just been speaking to someone I know who was a friend of his.

His name was John Drew and was only 22, if anyone here knew him there are tributes on Facebook.

RIP :(
