K2 GSXR 750 USD fork servicing
Has anyone got a SRAD 750 haynes manual and a scanner? I'm after the section on the USD forks, i got a copy of the Suzi manual but they say i need 5 "special tools" to service the fork
and haynes tend to have a no BS approach to these tasks or alternative tools to use

I beleive the forks are very similar to my TL forks, just the lengths and thus oil volumes vary ...... If all you are doing is servicing the forks - changing oil or seals - then you only need one essential bit; the spring compressor. The little rod that allows you to pump the cartridge to remove old oil is nice if you don't like getting messy
If you wish to remove the damper cartridge, there are a couple of castellated tools you need, but these can be made if you wish.
I have a variation of the spring compressor, crude but it works ......
I also have a copy of the TL service manual and can print out the relevant section if required ........

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

when we serviced the sv forks it asked for a 'special tool' and panic set in. turned out this special tool was to be inserted into the fork and fixed in place to stop the lower part from moving when unscrewing the two parts.
funnily enough tho, if u put 2 socket extension bars together and dont put a socket on the end and then slide it into the fork it fits right into the gap and stops the parts from moving.
special tool, hmmmmmmmmmmmm

A wooden broom handle was what i used for my old forks and i think its the same for most RWU forks but i need 5 'special' tools for the USDs mainly because of the internal moving parts that eather fall in the tube if not held up or one tool does the same job as the broom handle/socket extensions but it needs to go around the internal parts used for the compression adjustmentbillinom8s wrote:when we serviced the sv forks it asked for a 'special tool' and panic set in. turned out this special tool was to be inserted into the fork and fixed in place to stop the lower part from moving when unscrewing the two parts.
