How many of you own your own property?

Post by hilljd00 »

Hello ,

I'm just wondering how many of you own/rent your own property?

Because im getting my flat [renting] as soon as I come back from holiday at the end of May :)

Sorry to be noisy  , but can you give me an idea of your out goings a month, and what's going were and whom you get your services from. So I can try and budget start now.

Thank you 8)

The Building society still own a third of mine (mortgage  ), and my monthly outgoings for a detached house/family of four will be meaningless to you  suffice to say I'd willingly trade

Your on 125cc forum aint ya! Just seen identical post  . If you're by yourself council tax is cheaper, although for some reason they dont seem to want to charge me. Bout £75. Electric for me is about £30, and Virgin net and phone £15

Claim for everything you can, my daughter just got over an operation and has worked fulltime since school and the forms we are having to fill out to try and get her a few quid to help pay her rent (as she is a hairdresser and the wages are crap) its horrendous, like they want to make it too difficult so you give up, but if she was a single mum unemployed and in a council flat they would be bending over backwards to give her money, and thats from the horses mouth( well the benefits lady actually) so get those claims in.........

It's very expensive getting your own place. I'd budget around 500 a month for your own flat and then you have bills on top of that such as council tax, electricity, gas, tv licence, internet and water bills. It's cheaper to go into a house share if you know anyone who will share with you.

Is that by yourself though?

If social is paying mate then rock on and milk them for all their worth. Just make sure you have your budgeting in order.

I live in a 3 bed rented house that costs £720 a month. I am registered disabled but because I work full time I have to pay full rent etc. So I actually end up no better off

Its a bit meaningless if you don;t know what proportion is the moprtgage/rent and what is the other outgoings, so what I would say is whatever the rent cost will be, add 5-600 to account for bills, council tax, tv license, internet, phone, food etc.
That should give you a good idea. Mine is About £1000 / month at the moment, my mortgage being £400 of that.
