does anybody on here run a generator for their tyre warmers

im looking at buying one for places like cadwell and mallory but am unsure what spec of generator to buy,it needs to power 2 sets of tyre warmers at a mimimum

Whats the spec on your warmers? How many watts?

Assuming around 1000w figure i found on another site then id say a 2.8kva generator should be adequate unless you have some very high powered warmers. But thats assuming they use 1000w a set. But if thats 1000w per warmer then your going to need something around the 5-6 kva range to run 2 sets of warmers. So something like these 2.6 kva generators here

1.1 kva a set, 2.5kva is a common genertaor, and would cope with 2 sets of warmers and just about boil a kettle on its own :wink:
i gotta a 3.5kva and that runs the whole caravan, fridge etc. plus hair straighteners now and then :roll: for my lovely long hair!!!! its comin on a treat

Deej if you do come across somewhere to buy a Genny at a great price can you let me know please. Oh and a good place to buy tyre warmers to.

Now i got me own trailer i guess its time to start building my very own trackday kit :wink:

blimey my mate bought a pair off ebay new for 89£ a few weeks ago and they seem to work ok
ive got the motrax motogp ones with the digi display to adjust the temperature and they do a good job

will keep you updated on the genny situation and prices,ive been told makro but sealey tools have one on offer at £140 but not sureof its power range

You mean the sealey one in the spring promotion catalogue deej? £328.94inc vat? if you do its 2.3Kw so should be fine for two set of warmers.

nope the one i saw was 140ish,havent had chance to look at the full spec yet
i aint paying 350 quid for something that will ge used once every 3 months
