Do you nod???

Post by ninja_gal »

Bizzare question I know, but ive just picked up my ninja from brizzol, And i wondered if half the bikers i saw knew that it was only a 250 would they still nod?
I'l be the first to admit I tend not to nod at mopeds, but other than that i'l acknowledge anyone.

So i'm curious..... Do u nod???

Yep, nod at most on two wheels if I can, even those on peds if they're being sensible(not very often  ) I remember a guy on a Katana pulling up next to me on my DT50 years ago and giving me a nod just before blasting off at warp speed, made me feel like I was one of the gang :P I know there's another thread about kit, but it's my choice not to acknowledge anyone riding without at least gloves and jacket (and lid obviously ) On a practical note what are you meant to do if you pass a group of riders? even three or four and you might look like you're having a fit

Used to be quite common in France to do a "Horizontal" five when passing another "motarde", which I would often participate in, until I actually connected at about 70mph and it felt like I ripped my hand out of its socket

Otherwise, pretty much as above :D

Good thread!

Having recently passed my test and now on my first big bike i was wondering the same thing, i tend not to nod at anyone on an L plate especially jumped up kids on aprillia 125's thinking they can take on anything!

Wierd thou how some people just dont nod back! i find its down to the type of bike, someone on a harly or chopper dont seem to wanna know yet like minded someone on a sports bike does

Fragmites im with you on this one - people only get a nod if they are in a decent amount of protective gear (ie jacket, gloves, lid at the very least). And i will nod to anyone (even mopeds if they have the gear) !

People who dont ride in gear tend to get a shake of the head, or the middle finger if they are really taking the piss !!

As above. I tend to nod to anyone that has the right gear. When we come out of work each night there are 2 women on scooters with no correct kit accept a lid and they are all over the place  . Got fed up the other day as they tried to go both sides of me going through a junction so they got told what I thought about there riding style(told them to get a gsxr  )
Anyway like I said right gear and attitude and I will nod 8)

i don't wave at anyone wearing any more than flip flops and a pair of shorts and tee shirt - they're obviously either crap riders or paranoid, so I wouldn't want to put them off by nodding or waving at them

Either a sideways nod or left hand just up off the grip - but only if other biker does it first.
Had enough of getting ignored by the ingorant's

A quick hi-beam flick is easier at times... keep it in reserve for 3+ bikes.

I normally nod at everyone except mopeds, unless they nod first.

If theres a large group i usually stand on the seat and frantically wave my arms in the air while blowing kisses

not really,i just give two nods or something 8)
Bikeless again :/

One consolation if it is a Chav doing this if they come off the helmet will hit the ground before their head . and may do away with it, and stop one twerp buying a tuned up supermini and acting like a twerp
