every biker deserves a nod or respect, the biggest buzz i got when learning was when a scorp pulled up beside me on my my cg125 when stopped lights and encouraged me to get on and pass my test, never expected it and promptly booked my theory up because of it[/quote]

Same reason I nod or wave to kids on scooters, even the chav kids, figure they might stay on bikes if they feel part of something 8) , or at least be abit more observant when they finally pass their car test and join the Saxo club  . I used to think it was cool as f**k when I was sixteen and guys on bikes nodded as I screamed along on my ER50 :D !

Always nod unless i see Mavernick then its the old salute. Norm see him on way home during the week

I am also a delivery driver in a 7.5 T and we all tend to wave at other delivery drivers.

Its so hard at weekends when in the car and you are soooo tempted to wave and nod.

Wife thinks i am fitting when she is sat alongside me with the kids in the back :? :? :?

Oh and the old thumbs down thing is national sign for SLOW DOWN or be booked PC PLOD up ahead

Yea i nod. What annoys me is when im on the Z all the cruiser riders dont nod back. Now when im on the Harley the cruiser boys nod as do the sport bikes. Well forget the snobbery, surely its the art of biking that counts. :D

Glad to see all the RTC (Respect, Tolerance, Community). One of my favourite things about motorbikes is the sense that although I may not know all the bikers on the road, we're still looking out for each other.

I always nod. In Switzerland it's generally two fingers off the clutch, but as you guys ride on the other side of the road, better to keep two fingers on the brakes :).

Take care, and drive safe.

Peace wave for the win. What's the etiquette in the UK for signalling to another biker behind you that they can pass safely?

when we took my 18yr old daughter for a ride over Exmoor she actually practised her biker nod before we set off. She thought it was brilliant .
Also Smart car owners wave at each other too, Andy hides when he comes in my Smart(which I have for business advertising purposes only) incase any other Smart driver waves at him and agknowledges the fact he is sat in the most embarressing car ever (his words not mine)
