Those old R1 bikes shred tyres

Post by SlowR1der »

So anyway there was this R1 being ridden by a provisional licence holder, filtering through traffic with a silver striped back tyre...............Dunlop D207 if i recall

He was commuting 80 miles at Motorway speeds with this between him and the tarmac

Image

Needless to say his bike was subject to a PG9 and seized

PG9 is just a prohibition notice......basically he cant ride it till fault fixed taken to MOT test station for full MOT and then PG9 will be lifted if the vehicle passes.

Dunno what it is with traffic cops...one of a kind....

Hopefully 4 years hasn't turned you too much, but I fear it may be too late...

Fair enough. But why was it seized? Because he didnt have the right licence?

Yes mate in London (Met) we run Operation Reclaim where we will seized uninsured vehicles and or vehicles being driven by drivers/riders who do not hold the right licence for that category of vehicle......thats hundreds everyday across London.
