Pulled for 6x4 plate and let off!..

Post by Milky »

I was followed for a good 10 minutes all the way through Sowton Industrial Estate and up the A30 towards Exeter Airport by cop in a brand new Land Rover. I turned into Clyst Honiton to see if he really was following me and staright away on came the blue lights. All of the way i'd been riding like I was on my test again.. not a mile over the limit..didnt miss a single lifesaver! And was told this! 8)

First off my whole bike, liscence, tax, mot, insurance were checked over thoroughly. Then I was asked questions on how long i'd had the bike etc. Luckily he didnt pick up on the disconected speedo cable next to my tax disc! and before letting me go just advised me that I should go to Halfords and get a legal plate made. (This is the second time my plate has been picked up on)

I was told that the only reason he pulled me was because speed cameras and other plate reading roadside devices woldn't be able to read it. Although he told me he could read it fine whilst following me.

Don't you love it when people tell story's of their law breaking offences on forums to try and look good to their friends. The police can use the internet you know... And then talking about Riding with a disconnected speedo cable on a bike youve just sold and the buyer may then be looking at this and come round your house and beat you up cause you lied about milage of the bike to them, please use your brain a little before you post rubbish.

Depends how long its been disconnected for? Mine worked loose on the bandit, rode for approx 30miles and sorted it out. Not going to bother declaring that to a buyer am I :? .

As far as law breaking, the plate yes, which the police obviously know about now and have dealt with leniently :!:
