Ive just found a nail in my tyre!

Post by Plunger83 »

Hello

Well this morning I was cleaning my bike when i noticed bubbles coming from the centre of my rear tyre... on a closer inspection I found a nail! right in the middle!!

Im not majorly bothered as the tyres have been on for 3000 miles now and they are pretty much on the minimum wear markers!

The tyres that are curently on the bike are Pirelli Diablo's front and rear and I would like you opinion on what to go for next......

Do I stick with the Pirelli's and go for some Diablo Corsa 3's or I quite like the Bridgestone Bt-021 rears.. Im fairly sure ive read on here that a few of you that are running the -021 on the rear are using the -016 or is it the -014 on the front for better feel/grip? Is that right?

What are your thoughts please chaps... (and girls)

Oh and i need to get the tyres on for tuesday as i need the bike!!

Thanks for reading

Carl.

I use 021's front & rear. Got them on both bikes & they work well. Get around 8K from the front & 9.5K from the rear.
Normal road riding they are great tyres. :D :D

Thats a good price, Im pretty tempted with the Corsa three's, Ive pushed the Diablos Ive currently got to the edge (2-3mm chicken strip) and ive never had any reason to doubt them so ive got confidence in Pirelli.

Depends on how often you ride and how. If you ride everyday, commuting etc then I'd have to reccomend the 021, but i'd go for an 021 rear and 020 front. Otherwise the 016's are phenomenal.

I ride just for pleasure!!!

Not very offen in the wet but occasionally i get caught when im out

I usually ride with 4 other guys who ride an R1, Gsxr thou, rsv mille and an R6 so the K1 is normally right at the top of the rev range in every gear, I do manage to keep with he boys though thanks to the aka exhaust, power commander and filter it is a little quicker than standard

So nice soft tyres and loads of grip is top of my wish list!

The Corser 111's are deffinatly a step up  but heard good stuff about the 016's. Both these are good and sticky and more for fast road and the odd trackday :D if you want a longer lasting ( touring ) tyre then the 020 is the one to go for 8)

Looks to me like the Corsa three's and the BT-016's are on the same par........

Im going to have to see what prices I can get them for and what the availability is on them, I need to get them fitted first thing tuesday.

Looks like monday morning at work is going to be spent on the phone..... and not for work calls

The Diablo deal was with Busters and the standards Corsa's, not the III's ...... plus it was only the 120/190 combo, the 180 combo was dearer, and they've now put the 120/190 combo up to £139.99 + £4.99 P&P

I think the 120/180 is £159

Have a look at two shops - "sticky stuff" or "Round & Black" on e-bay, they seem the most competitive on price at the moment :D
