Gadanga!

Post by Vard66 »

Hey guys and gals.

I've had a bit of a look around the site. I'm currently quite inebriated, however, so I'll have to bookmark and have a proper look tomorrow.

Couldn't find any kind of newbies section, so I thought I'd plonk something in here for the sake of a polite introduction.

My name is Chris, I'm 20, I ride a ZXR 400 L4, drive a 1997 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback.

Just wanted to say hey, and register that I'm not some kind of spamming auto-bot before I get deleted for having no posts.

Gonna have a look around the site for a while, probably with very few if any posts, before I'm convinced to subscribe. From what I'm seeing so far, it looks prety well organised and thought through, though!

So hola.

Aye, the man popped up on http://www.zxr400ownersclub.co.uk and the pictures he put on the site were hosted here, that's how I found this site.

Hallo one and all.

I'm about 15 miles S/S-W of Swindon in (today) Sunny Wiltshire, and I work in Wine Rack in Marlborough.
I was always gonna do my bike license, but was urged into biking by a couple of my close mates who have been on two wheels since they were legally able to be on the roads.

Took and passed my third attempt at the A2 class test on the 9th May last year, and leapt straight onto the ZXR that day!

I'd bought the bike on the first of the month, on a complete impulse, needing a cam chain change, rattling like a [bar steward], for a grand total of £720. It's a bit tatty, has full aftermarket fairings, a dented Micron, but the important things were brand new EBC discs and pads and a set of barely scrubbed in BT090s ^_^. Had it serviced and the cam chain changed at the same time by Elliots of Cricklade, and then away I went.

Bit of a weird sensation coming off a CG125 and jumping straight onto a focused super sports type bike, was a bit of a steep learning curve getting used to the handling, had a moment or two, but it's all good!

Not done much to the bike so far - tail tidied, and Motrax LED Tips are about the extent of my modification so far, well, except one or two cracks in the fairing from dropping it once or twice.

Hang on a tick, I'll find the photo thread I made for the ZXR forum...

*goes to look*

Here we go.

Enjoy.

I know I will, as soon as I get her running, hopefully, sometime towards the end of this week.

I should also mention that that Virago belongs to my best mate, who is sitting here with me reading this, and whom will be signing up in a few minutes.

Fackin' Shiny. He spends more time polishing it than riding it.
