Bloody nerve racking or what

Post by Johnnyb »

Just been bidding on e-bay for a bellypan fairing for my old GPZ750, they just don't come up much and i was beginning to think i would have to do without it until i spotted one a few days ago and two others were bidding but it was only £24 at the time. Bearing in mind you just cannot get hold of them i put in an autobid of £100 and was following it from the final five minutes and at 2 minutes to go someone put a bid in of £50 then my autobid kicked in with £52 so with 30 seconds to go they bid £66 and my autobid kicked in with £68 and i got my bellypan. Happy isn't the word but that E-bay thing gets you chewing your fingers down to the bone if you really want something because you don't know how bad the others want it especially old stuff :D :D :D :D :D

but Johnny, they never came with belly-pans as standard ......... they were generally Skidmarx or Powerbronze ones ...... and they can still be had for £70 - 80 new :?

Oh yes they did m8, only the last of the air cooled models the zx750A3, this was the bike complete with fairing side panels and bellypan, kawasaki part number 55027 and 55028a/b respectively for the side panels. Your right about the skidmarx/powerbronze ones but they aren't quite the same generally being smooth plastic or even fibreglass rather than the dimpled effect on the originals which were allways black. This was my bike from 1988 (two years old) standard except for a Harris pipe and what a lovely bike right up until the time my ex missus ran into the back of me at a junction :( :( :(

In future mate look at snipe programs such as snipeswipe.com It puts your auto bid in in thelast 2 seconds. Saves all the nail biting and the sellers mate upping the bid

Well, I stand corrected - I thought those were aftermarket, not standard ........ I thought the 750T was the only one with lowers as standard

This is a cracking site with all the Kawasaki microfiches on it, lists all the part numbers and tells you if you can still get the parts or not or even if they have been superceded

http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1985-a3-z ... partslist/

And just had a look in the Haynes manual and under 1985-1987 ZX750A3 it says ''This version of the GPZ model can be distinguished by its full sports fairing with belly pan. Didnt realise these models actually went up to 1988 and were called the A5 with no significant changes from the A3 it says, so they must have sold these and the watercooled R models side by side........
