Pc Lancaster said: "Learning how to take a corner correctly may sound silly, but getting this right is one of the most important things to stay safe in motorcycling..."

Do you really think so PC Lancaster?
I wish someone had told me that years ago, I wouldn't have bought a bike if I thought it was going to be so difficult to 'negotiate' corners.

ahhhhhhhh so thats where i have been going wrong all these years, damn -why didn't i just ask a police man ???!!!????!!!!???

it's so refeshing to know that the police have a positive attitude and helpful out look towards the biking community and that they are willing to share it with the press.

what next ? 'how to ride in a straight line' or 'tyres- they are your friends' maybe even 'traffic cops - there to make you feel happy on the road'.

ride safe people :D

Sadly my response may be a bit controversial and 'stately-ish' but Personally, I find it refreshing that at the beginning of the season the police are more supporting biking, and highlighting major reasons for accidents rather than clamping down like many forces across the country.

As a biker when i talk to non-bikers they normally end up saying with regards to higher mortality/accident rates among bikers 'it's the other idiots on the road you got to look out for'. I normally reply that to an extent this is true, but it's my experience that most accidents invovling a bike, only involve 1 bike and no one else and are normally due to rider error, such as misjudging a corner or going too fast for knowledge of the road, or trying to keep up.

So for me, I'm glad that the police down here at this time of year are in support of biking and keeping bikers safe through awareness and training rather than clamping down, focussing specifically on motorcyclists and even handing out section 59's.

Have to agree with Funky on this one :)

Twice already this year I've come across bike's that have failed to negotiate corners & ended up in the hedge :( Fortunately neither rider was hurt beyond a few bruises & a bit of shock.

i think the wording is a lttle inconvienent but i get what they are trying to do. I'd rather see the police try to comperate with us than just issuing tickets

If this was coming from Keith Code then alot of people would take it on board & ask for more.

Indeed. Even if it is somewhat stating the obvious

I think its pretty obvious what the message is here...

Obviously the simple minded think differently.....Police deal with accidents everyday involving us 2 wheeled fiends and sadly alot do not know how to ride properly.

Maybe Maver-Nick and Funky should go on some advanced riding because obviously they lack these basic requirments when owning 2 wheels.
