Paignton Bike festival?

I got down about 10.30 and the guy was stood just past the pay point. I did kinda chuckle when he shouted slow down at the Harleys I always enjoy Paignton it just seemed wrong to shout slow down when you weren't even moving and when at least on marshal on a quad is riding too fast for the amount of people there.

I thougth i saw you going home when i went up there, looked like your leathers and bike as you came the other way but wasn't too sure, probably around 2,2:30ish.

Nope not me. I had to leave about 1.30 and also had matt with me. Must plan better next year so I can stay longer

Four of us went down this morning for an hour, it was ok. Pretty sure I saw Tom1528 as we were on the way out while waiting for the level crossing barriers.
Afterwards we went over Malbourgh/Salcombe way for the Bolbury Classic......basically Bolbury Down was an old WWII airfield & they had a 'fly in' this weekend with Spitfire, Hurricane, Tiger Moth & various other planes, also there were vintage bikes, cars, military vehicles & the old radar station was opened up for tours.
For a short time you could have a walk around the Spitfire & Hurricane, & I mean really up close, no barriers & then they both did a aerial display
Had a great, if not different afternoon, didn't cost anything to get in or to park the bike & didn't have to queue to get out

next time theres something like that going on could you post up the details as i'd have been really interested in seeing that display.

Yeah will do. I guess it'll be the same time next year, I've made a note of it so I'll post something up a week or so before.

Next one I'm hoping to go to is the Culdrose one down your way in July....but that'll be a bit of a bigger event

im more interested in seeing the spitfires than the newer stuff, we launched the spitfire and lancaster manuals 2 years ago and theyre so interesting that its made me want to get to the battle of britain memorial up in lincolnshire

Been there a few years ago & it's well worth going to, but before you go, check the website because as it's an active flight some, or all of the aircraft can be away

The guides are veterans who either worked on the aircraft or served on them (pilot, gunner, etc) so you get a more 'personal' tour, (if you get my drift) although as the years go by this touch will sadly disappear

Would you be jealous then if i say i used to work at Waddington just up the road from Conningsby the home of the BBMF and my Flight Sergeants son worked in Air Traffic at Conningsby and blagged us a look round the BBMF and we got to sit in the Lancaster and have a good nosy round, but unfortunately allthough we looked round the outside of the Spit and Hurri we weren't allowed to sit in the cockpit.......

I'm not surprised that there are very few trade stalls there this year, Bmad are charging a lot of money for trade pitches down there, that's the main reason why I'm not there with the dyno truck this year, it is just too expensive for me to attend the event.
