i looked at a drz400, insurance is only 220quid fully comp aswell, but i cant really afford to sell my gsxr becus i would lose so much money, :/ and i dont think mum and dad would be too happy after ive just spent out so much for the gsxr46robbie46 wrote:Do you get to really go for it on the bike around where you live then? To be honest, if you're bored of it, you must be really tearing around at silly speeds. Not so clever if you're only 18 lol.GIXXER KID wrote:i looked at a drz400, insurance is only 220quid fully comp aswell, but i cant really afford to sell my gsxr becus i would lose so much money, :/ and i dont think mum and dad would be too happy after ive just spent out so much for the gsxr46robbie46 wrote:Do you get to really go for it on the bike around where you live then? How much would u lose if you sell the GSXR then? Couldnt you do a part exchange for.. i dunno a KTM 690SM? A couple of years old, you'll probably not lose too much. You might even make something.

Fpmsl si !!!
What's ema and if you only get 30ema a week how do you afford to run and maintain a sportsbike. With the mileage you do you must be spanking out for a new tyre every month

If you go from 1800 insurance to a drz 400 with 220 insurance you stand to get refunded about 1500 if your insurance company is any good. But i wouldnt sell the gsxr. Maybe you need to go on a diet that might help you get the front end up all the time. If you weigh lots then that will obviously make the bike slower.
Re: how can i spice up my bike life
If you are 18, that bike must be boring to ride with 33bhp. I got the SV because it suited being restricted to 33bhp because of the torque. On an IL4 SS you get most of the power in the high revs. Just enjoy the cornering and wait a year until your restriction is up. It comes soon than you think. Don't remove the restriction, you don't want to be riding around with unlimited financial liability!GIXXER KID wrote:i was thinking of getting a v-twin but ive only had my gsxr for 2months and its cost me the best part of £5000 if not more plus the £1800 on the insurance :/Ricky_t wrote:I felt like the way you are on my bike! I was not riding the bike to the full potential. Do a track day, they are good fun.
Otherwise get some ohlins! I have test ridden a few 600cc il4 and found them a bit boring to my lower powered sv. Maybe you could try a v-twin! The firestorms are meant to be good fun and cheap to insure. Definately cheaper than a k6 600cc!
Blue Sv650s Curvey - Now unrestricted but starting to find the suspension a problem.
Next bike: CBR600RR eventually.

Haha i already made that hint about the 33bhp thing. He didnt actually say it but if you read through the posts you might get the idea that its not restricted...Ricky_t wrote:If you are 18, that bike must be boring to ride with 33bhp. 33bhp isnt all that bad anyway! My bike gets a little breathless sometimes but i dont care, its all good that i'll get to keep my licence (hopefully)!

Re: how can i spice up my bike life
My first thoughts were that it's Stoatley/Andyals/Desperatelyseekingattention or whatever psuedonym that sad case has come up with now...
I may be wrong, but isn't everyone under the age of 21 restricted to 33bhp anyway, irrespective of having had a full licence for two years? You can't take the DAS test under the age of 21 can you?
It's not a good idea to brag about being seriously illegal on a public forum either.
If you're bored with your bike, come to Llandow, it's only £55 so stop being a wimp and quit the excuses.
You'll probably find that your bike is in no way boring and is in fact capable of far more than you can do with it. Besides, you might actually learn a bit about riding properly, and in a safe environment too... See you there then?
