A Weekend in France

Post by Smiler »

...to go see the MotoGP!!!!

Never seen MotoGP before, or any bike racing for that matter so this was gonna be a bit special

A few pics of the trip....

Waiting for the ferry..

Somewhere in France!! Some superb fast flowing roads winding their way down thru the country

Le Mans circuit
Image

Start line and pits.... it doesn't look very busy here as these were taken on qualifying day
Image

Who's that daft bird!!!!! ha ha ha

Our little group - don't be fooled by the sunglasses, it was actually pretty cold during the 125 and 250 races! brrrrrr!!!
Image

but, as on the qualifying day, the sun shone for the GP boys and it was scorching!
Image

This was the official bike park (secure parking) but there were much much more parked on every verge, pavement and bit of dirt all around the circuit.

and this is the result when they all want to leave together!!

The bikes at where we stayed

Some chill out time after some great roads coming back from the race..

A very tight squeeze on the ferry back! French ferry staff don't neccessarily give a f**k how or what they tie your bike down with, grrrr... KTM Adventure in front of us was about 10mm away from the bikes either side with those huge pannier boxes

A superb weekend away, some terrific roads getting there, the experience of Le Mans for the MotoGP and top company to boot! Got home in the early hours, tired but very very happy.....and already looking at doing some more

Glad the other SWBers had a great time too :D we did look out for you all (among the 50,000 plus others that were also there     )

Glad you all enjoyed it :P
the motgp was a little confusing but the ride back to the hotel was an eye opener for those who hasn't ridden in france before
we didn't have as much trouble on the ferry just 2 lines down one side  though we did strap our own bikes down on the way home
Now riding a Tuono V4 1100 😀

Glad you had a good time :D and sorry we didn't make it over the other side of the circuit to see you

We left the car park via the "back-door" so didn't find a queue until we were out of it  ..... and spent about half an hour with the bikes sizzling between 100 and 105c

There was plenty of room on our boat, though on the way back they ran out of straps and had to resort to rope to tie them down
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away
