"Safety Camera" got me?

Post by baz »

Well I was pottering through the dual carriageway at Dunball, near M5 J23, the road goes from NSL to 50, then a bend, then the camera van was parked in a junction. I glanced down at the speedo, it said 71. So I thought there's no point slowing down for it now, it's already got me. Does anyone want to give me some hope by telling me they have done the same and not heard anything? I would guess the scammers must have to rotate their heads to see, and hence might not have written down my numberplate?

You might be lucky, someone i know has been past two scamera vans at least 20mph over the limit and not been flashed.

Id wait and see if anything comes through the letterbox :?

You don't get zapped unless you're ten per cent over the limit + 1, isn't that right?

But if it was the case, and it was a 50 then you would only need to go 56.....but so wont work in your favour if you were doing 71.

Seems no one else had mentioned yet but all the scamera vans now have cameras on the sides to catch bikes, so itll record your plate as well, so the bloke inside dosnt have to spin round to get your plate...

If you have, you will have a choice.. 3 points + £60 fine or the RIDE course.. costs you £90.. but you then wont get any points.

I went through one of those last year at a rather, umm large speed  and never heard anything from it, although I have heard that they now have the cameras' in the side to get bikes as well, it all depends on the roll out schedule tp the local forces.

I guess it's a case of waiting the 14 days and seeing if anything comes out to you :(
