Only you can answer it,
all good bikes, what fits you best and the deal you can get.
Its like asking "whats my favourite track"? How would we know?

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
i would imagine theyre all quite different, the k8 will be a big difference to the k3 you currently have
the question is what do you want from your bike, where do you want to ride it and how good a rider are you ??

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
a newer bike is always nice....and it doesnt matter how you ride you will notice the difference and it will make you grin from ear to ear.
bike development moves on at a very fast rate - any of the newer gsxr's are killer bikes, the K7 thou is good but it really will feel scary fast if your only used to 600's.
Id discount the kawasaki because its not a GSXR

Stick with the gixxer's!!
New is always nice

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
Why not update your 600? A later model radial front end will fit in easily, get some work done on the motor, full system filter and custom map, decent rear shock and a radial master cylinder for the front, and some nice sticky tyres, A newer seat unit/subframe will fit without too much difficulty and make the bike look more modern and more importantly make it unique to you, instead of looking like every other bloody Gixxer out there.

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
thats all very well and good but the bike will be worth less than if he leaves it standard. as soon as a bike has a diff front/rear end off a newer bike people question whether its been down the road. i wouldnt buy a bike that wasnt standard, full system etc thats fine but dont throw other bikes at it. imojam wrote:Why not update your 600? you will be very suprised at the diff in the newer 600`s. going from an 03 600 to a 07 thou is a massive jump and i would deffo suggest you test ride one first!!Croddman wrote:Hello People,

old enough to know better, young enough not to care!
Re: Whats your thoughts ?
For what its worth I would suggest a gsxr 750 k6/7, the k8/9 aren't that of an improvement. You should be well happy with the performance of the k6/7 over what you already have so it will be a good step up. As billibobnom8s has said, if you feel you can get no more from the bike you already have you could always do a track day or 2 just to find out. Anyway once you have learnt to ride the sevenfiddy you can then step up to a proper bike like the R1. lol
Re: Whats your thoughts ?
he doesnt need to do a track day you can tell the difference on road riding between different years of bikes, slow or fast, there is a whole load of bullshit that comes from track riders when in reality its just that, shite, just becuase you ride around a track. other than the fun you have whilst doing it, what does it mean?DaveMcR1 wrote: if you feel you can get no more from the bike you already have you could always do a track day or 2 just to find out. personally my bike is silky smooth on a track and will go as fast as I have the nerve and at the moment is limited by my ability not the bikes, on the road its the opposite, the bumps will have me off and its easy to outride the bike and scare the crap out of myself, and thats on a decent well set up bike.... so buy the newest bike you can no amount of bolt ons and bling will account for the onward march of bike development. old is the crap deal even if it is kitted with WP/ohlins.
(incidently Nurburgring is a good half way house between track and road riding)
and for the love of god...once he gets the hang of a gsxr he should buy a hairdressers bike????

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
Got to agree with jason, bike development moves on so fast these days. If your going to modify a bike you would be better off modifying as new a bike as you can afford
Nothing wrong with a kwak,I test rode a 636 in the week and was quite impressed

Re: Whats your thoughts ?
My point was to do a track day and use it to improve skills rather than change bike. Bike developement hasn't moved on as much in the last six years as much as it did in the previous six, the huge increases in power are no longer, improvements in suspension, radial brakes blah, blah, blah are no more, thats why manufacturers are throwing gimmicks like power switches at there bikes, yamahas new engines crank has been the biggest developement in years & it want belong before they are all doing it.
