Rockingham this Sunday

Well that was good…

10.15 Saturday morning and I’m thinking what shall I do this weekend?? 3 phone calls ( gav,colin,no-limits) and 15mins later and I’m booked to go to Rockingham. I had about 3 hours to load up, get to Exeter ( 50-60mins), pick gav up, get oil and a filter, back to gavs,unload, fit oil and filter, reload……

So….thanks to gav for telling me where to get it from and then fitting the filter and oil.
Cheers to the other lads for hanging around when I should have done it weeks ago .
Thanks Colin for letting me stay in your room.

I thought Rockingham was impressive and enjoyed the circuit even though it was flat. I know it was built primarily for oval racing, and it was one mans vision. Just a shame he didn’t visualise portimaeo …..

The Hornet you saw was (obviously) his track bike, but the road one he has done is superb

International mate
2nd gear around most of the track except from the 2nd part of the left snatching 3rd before changing back to 2nd gear then getting into 3rd gear on the straight

does that make sense

your bottling to quick on the straights

unless your 'prilla has much longer gearing than my gsxr...both left handers leading into gracelands 3rd gear the rest of the infield in 2nd....... so out of the last right hander before the infield lefts and click into 3rd just as you flick over (i crashed at this point last time out )

2nd(briefly) and 3rd, 4th (very briefly) and back down to 2nd on the first straight oval banking section, 2nd (screaming) through the chicane linking the oval sections and just hooking 3rd as you exit onto second oval section then 4th for a tiny bit more before back down to 2nd for the infield.

3 gears on stock litre superbike gearing I reckon ...national version is deffo 2.

Had a great day again thanks to colin who organised the day and to gav for some great photo's when the place did not have many locations due one thing or another.

By the end i really got into the track but as usual my fitness was a factor and was totally knackered when the red flag came out after the first lap sorry last session.

Top day weather was great

Thanks also to layne as i used his tyre warmers which totally opened my eyes to giving it beans from the very first corner. I shall be on the lookout in the future for a set.

Ps does anyone know of a eye specialist as i am worried that Blimey might be colour blind best he has a check up Only joking matey yellow cones or not your bloody quick round the twisty stuff.

Yippeeeee new modem and back online

What a great day, weather was awesome and so was company. Even though most of us felt knackered most the day, well i deffo did and didn't drink much the night before.

Colin you did a grand job with that Hotel mate and sorry if Julian kept you awake talking about Giblets and what not all night

Big thankyou Julian for the spare comfy seat in the van, was a bit of a squash 4 of us in the other as a couple of them ocupants were a little bigger then average

Must give you some pennies for fuel mate, even if its for the great conversations we were having. Nurses outfits and certain coloured riders etc

Got to admit didn't feel too keen on circuit before lunch. Felt a bit mickey mouse, stop start but come the end it felt quite a flowing circuit. Did grow to love it and felt comfortable and confident come the end

Thats once i could try my damn hardest passing a certain R1 that was way to quick to pass and when i did completely ignored the strict no over take pass the yellow cone rule No it was fun playing who is the bravest down there
