Ok a little help here, having now re sprayed my tail unit and front cowl with Sheene homage colours I can't decide wether to use the '7' logo on the cowl or not:
Without logo..
and with logo..
What do you lot reckon then?
And cos I'm pleased with it, heres a closeup of the tail unit

Well I was trying to keep it to one small one, subtle ish, so opted for the front cowl idea, just not sure if it makes out I'm a wanna be racer rather than just a fan?
I know it should'nt matter, after all its my bike, but my wife wasn't convinced so leading to my indescision.

7 on a white background would look better than yellow background. The paint looks like it needs more lacquer, but that may just be the light. But it does look good I like Sheene rep paintwork.
I've just checked the photos in my copy of his biography, and the number boards for the 500cc class were yellow with black numbers - that keeps it more authentic (though he didn't have any Alpinestars logos on his bike) - the yellow oval would be improved by having a narrow black border IMHO

The Alpinestars logo is for myself and I know its not pure Sheene, but the paint job and no. is supposed to be a nod to him, rather than a full bore rep, as that wouldn't suit the bikes style - modern cafe/ naked. Bearing that in mind I'm really into the black 7 on the white stripe, maybe that would lessen the direct race rep connatations?
