Dyno removed

Post by Rsv4Col »

Goerge whites have now bought Gt motorcycles in plymouth and one of the 1st things they have done is remove the Dyno to make room for an MOT bay :80:

Unfortunately the pen pusher is correct, everyone needs an MOT every year, but a dyno is optional to most people, and even when people take their bike to be set up it only needs doing once unless the motor is modded again or things like pipe and carbs are changed. So an MOT bay will make money more than a dyno ever will, and an MOT bay costs about a third of the cost of a dyno set up, so overall it wins every time, best option is to have both, but then space becomes an issue. If I had the space I'd have an MOT bay as well as my dyno, but even with my dyno being mounted in the truck I still don't have enough space to fit an MOT bay into the workshop at the moment.

But it's not about "providing" an MOT bay - it's about moving the MOT's. They already make a shed load from MOT's as everything that goes there fails on front disks!

2. Margaret and the Cafe

Col has GT's been renamed in plymouth yet, the st austell one is still GT by the look of it ? You'd have thought that G Whites would have had the new signage sorted with the time it took them to conclude the deal

Trumpet, I hope the cafes improved as when I went there to meet col the cafe was shit, microwaved sausages don't do anything for me :)):

I was in GT yesterday and got chatting to one of the staff. The work is starting today, and apparently the showroom will reopen in 2 weeks. They are removing the entire lower wall in the showroom and moving it back to be in line with the main outside wall to make the showroom much bigger. They are also getting lots of new stock in, including brands that they didn't previously carry like RST. If they offer the big price reductions that George White's down in Bodmin offer then it can only be a good thing.

GW operate as two distinct brands, almost - the main shops (as I assume GT will be) then the "warehouse" (like Bodmin) where the get rid of old stock/redundant lines. In swindon they are two separate buildings.
